Manifest DESTINY

St. Louis, Missouri

  • This was the start of the U.S. expansion.

  • This is where Lewis and Clark started there journey of the Louisiana Purchase. This was an important spot for expansion because this is where people stopped to trade goods like food supplies.

  • IT WAS ALSO WHERE THE GOLD RUSH BEGAN

  • This Battle was part of the Manifest Destiny because this was when Santa Anna signed the treaty giving Texas there independence. And annexing Texas to the U.S. nine years later.


Mexican war the rio grande river

Mexican War- The Rio Grande River

  • This was where the Mexican soldiers crossed the river to attack the American soldiers.

  • This suddenly sparked the Mexican War.

  • We gained the Mexican Cession that expanded our land.

  • This is where the leaders of Mexico signed the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo giving up California and New Mexico to the United States.

  • These lands were called the Mexican Cession.

  • This is where the California Gold Rush began. Over 80,000 people moved to California to begin searching for gold.

  • Very soon after the Gold Rush began California Became a huge bustling city filled with people.


Oregon city

Oregon City

  • This place was the last stop on the long Oregon Trail. This city allowed people to have a place to stay after a long journey to rest up. It also provided some supplies to weary travelers.


Trail of tears tahlequah

Trail of Tears- Tahlequah

  • Where Americans forced Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, and Choctaw nations to move out of there native lands to what is Oklahoma now.The Tahlequah was the native government for the Cherokee was located. The way to get there was called the Trail of Tears. This allowed the U.S. to take more land for ourselves.
