  5. 2. DAY • Tuesday • Gala Dinner at Esma Sultan Mansion or Adile Sultan Mansion or Sait Halim Pasha or Rahmi Koç Museum

  6. Esma Sultan Mansion ALT I ESMA SULTAN MANSION The brick palace was built approx. 200 years ago for Esma Sultan, an Ottoman Sultan’s wife as a summer palace. Destroyed by fire over a twenty five years ago and the exterior brick walls are all that remained of the building. In 1990’s the building is started to be used for summer events as an open space for concerts, receptions. After the building started gaining public attention, it has been decided to use the beautiful land-marked ruin, for the whole year long as an event and exhibition venue.

ADILE SULTAN MANSION ALT II Situated on the Asian side of the Bosphorus in Kandilli, Adile Sultan Palace, which was built upon the order of Sultan Abdülmecit in the name of his sister in 1876, has been restored thanks to the donation made by the deceased businessman, Sakıp Sabancı after the great fire it suffered in 1986… The Palace, which is planned to become one of the most respectable organization locations in Istanbul, has halls with high, gold foiled ceilings, with a view of the Bosphorus. There is a total usage area of 5625m2 including 2 meeting halls for 200 people, an Oval Hall for 500 people for banquet and meeting purposes, an area of 1300m2 for cocktails and exhibitions, 20 seminar rooms for 30-40 people, the “Palace Garden” for 2000 people and various service units.

  10. ALT III 1) Sait Halim Pasha Mansion This mansion which has a Neo Classical architectural style, burnt down in recent years. It was later renovated by the Turkish State. Its original owner SaitHalim Pasha was a Grand Vizier in the Ottoman Palace for five years. Despite his efforts to keep the Empire impartial during World War I, he finally had to sign the treaty which obliged the Ottoman Empire to enter the war on the side of Germans. Later he was exiled to Malta, and was assassinated in in Rome in 1921.

  11. ALT IV RAHMI KOC MUSEUM The Rahmi M Koç Museum is the first major museum in Turkey dedicated to the history of Transport, Industry and Communications. Housed in magnificent buildings - themselves prime examples of industrial archaeology - on the shore of the historic Golden Horn, the collection contains thousands of items from gramophone needles to full size ships and aircraft.   13. GREEN HOUSE RESTAURANT Lovely spot in Istanbul… This grand historical mansion in Sultanahmet Square was featured in the world travel press. Green House (Yesil Ev) restaurant located in the Yesil Ev Hotel, featuring Turkish & French cuisine. The Konak steak and duck an l’orange are recommended. If the weather allows guests will be served their lunch in the Garden of the mansion, otherwise our group will be welcome at inside of the mansion.

TOPKAPI KARAKOL RESTAURANT Located between the beautiful St. Irene Church and the imperial walls in the first yard of Topkapı Palace , Karakol Restaurant is set inside a lovingly restored historical building which once functioned as a guard post. The restaurant offers both a la carte and cafe menus, with a range of salads, sides, cold starters and main courses from Turkish and Ottoman cuisines.
