2. University Payroll • Pamphlets for Students and Foreign Nationals have been distributed • Please don’t give paper direct deposit or tax forms to these two groups • Give pamphlet or can use electronic version on Payroll website

3. University Payroll • Working on pamphlets for EPA, SPA, Post Doc and non student temps • Ready by start of spring semester • Electronic version available through Payroll website now • If must use paper forms, check that they are complete and correctly filled out before submitting • Incorrect or incomplete forms will be returned to department

4. Direct Deposit Form • Make sure you are using the most current form • Check to be sure employee has provided all the information being requested • Have they signed and dated the form? • Something must be attached • Voided Check • Letter/form from bank with routing and account number

6. Tax Forms • Make sure you are using most current form • One out of every five tax forms it filled out incorrectly or is incomplete and cannot be processed. • Two biggest errors • Form is not signed and dated • Claimed “Exempt” and also provided a “number of allowances”

9. New Employee Orientation • Payroll is now presenting during the first hour • New employees are given handout with information on • Unity ID and password • MyPack Portal/Employee Self Service • Direct Deposit • Payroll Schedule • Tax Withholding • Understanding a pay advice

10. Foreign Nationals • Majority of foreign national student employees are arriving now • Be sure they get the FN pamphlet • Can also direct them to the Payroll homepage where they will find a list of days & times Michelle is having walk in hours for tax assessments • Remember – FN can not change their withholding on line and can not sign up for direct deposit until they have an SSN
