  2. 4 Energy Weeks (4EW) • Summary: • To get a good overview on the current status of the environment (locally-globally) especially in Hungary and Europe. • To get to know energy production, energy crisis, environmental protection aspects; how they are revealed; how they are put into practice, etc. • Environmental problems. • BME and educating energy engineers. • Credit-program (total 6 ECTS)

  3. Courses, Lectures, Field Trips • Measurement at Energy and Environmental Protection BMEGEENAG51 (3 ECTS credits) • Air Pollution, Waste Water, and Solid Waste Management BMEGEÁTAG04 (3 ECTS credits) • A loose series of lectures on different aspects of energy (production, saving, protection, sustainability,etc.) • Field trips (traditional and nuclear power plants, wind and biomass farm, sewage works)

  4. Timing, Duration, Credits to Earn 18 June – 15 July, 2012 4 weeks 2 x 3 = 6 ECTS credits

  5. Program Requirements • Full participation - in classes/lectures, and - in visits and field trips. • Submission - 1000 words final paper, or - mid-term and final papers • Final certificate: academic transcript

  6. Entry Requirements, Application Deadline • University student status (with GPA 3.00) • Application Form: http://icepe.bme.hu/admission/application_form_2011.pdf • application form completely filled in, signed and stamped by home institution, • copy of your passport, • proof of your English proficiency, • official transcripts of any higher education already completed, • Curriculum Vitae (résumé) • Email application to eszter.kiss@mail.bme.hu • Application Deadline: 1st April, 2012 at the latest.

  7. Finance • Fees to pay: EUR 3.500,- • Fees include: - application fee, - tuition (courses, lectures), - field trips (visits and transportation), - airport pickup upon arrival - accommodation (dorm-type hostel), - city transportation (30 days), - health insurance, and - administration.
