Issues with Previous DDR Strategies • No real tie to military missions • Can’t explain DDR to our leadership • Do not rely on strictly military skills • Not operating completely in our lane • Replicated by numerous civilian partners throughout the country • Can’t explain DDR to our key partners • Limited numbers cannot make true impact • 5 operators in MO can only make a small impact UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO

  4. How do Coalitions become effective? • Coalitions have been proven to be effective when they apply specific processes. • Currently the widest accepted process for Community development is the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) 4 UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO

  13. Additional Tools • Applying processes is not always enough. • National Guard Counterdrug in coordination with Community Systems Group developed a tool to gauge the specific problems of a coalition. 13 UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO

  15. Community Kaizen & Coaching Model The coaching model takes the Kaizen survey and allows even a novice Civil Ops specialist to develop a detailed “get well” plan with actionable goals. 15 UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO
