  2. The Fridge Keep your fridge at 5ºC or below. Store raw meat, fish or chicken on the bottom shelf of the fridge. Keep salad vegetables and fruit in the salad drawer. Keep ready-to-eat foods on shelves above raw meat.

  3. Storing Food Safely In The Fridge • Store raw meat, fish or chicken in a sealed container. • Ready-to-eat food should be covered and stored above the bottom shelf.

  4. Your Fridge • Clean the inside and outside of the fridge once a week. • Throw out food once it has passed its sell-by date. • Do not put hot food in the fridge - let it cool first.

  5. The Freezer • The freezer should be below -18ºC. • All food should be in good condition before it is frozen. • All foods should be labelled and dated. • Frozen food should be defrosted in the fridge.
