3. Engineering and Technology (in general) made our life very easier than for example 50 years before, but what human did was not perfect, or safe for themselves. In other words, the perception of risk has been changed over the past few years. For instance, before creation of a hole in the ozone layer (due to production of CFCs, CO2, etc by human), nobody cared very much about greenhouse gases and global warming. But after occurrence of such phenomena human’s perception of risk and safety changed and by reducing activities that result in the production of greenhouse gases, recently it’s been announced that the hole in ozone layer is disappearing. Negative Consequences of Technology: Two main problem caused by human activities, due to the development of technology is explained in the video: • 1- Deforestation • FOR OBTAINING: • Charcoal/coal • Palm oil • Alternative/bio fuels • Paper (Eucalyptus tree) • 2- Global Warming • DUE TO: • Releasing carbon to the atmosphere • RESULTS IN: • Rise in sea level • Polar ice resource is melting
