  1. READY, STEADY, GO 2.4 Writing Portfolio

Step 1: READY Plan Brainstorm Focused Mini-tasks • Simple/short tasks from ‘Ready Writing Choices’ or set by teacher. • Purpose is to introduce tasks/year theme/focus skills/start the writing process. • These will be given feedback for a purpose i.eideas or mechanics etc. • These may be done at home or school.

Step 2: STEADY Develop Draft • The teacher will set these tasks • A number of tasks (3-4) will be completed to draft level only, each with a ‘statement of intent’ • Each task COULD be taken to assessment level. • These tasks will be linked to texts or theme study/a combination of creative and formal/ given as a 1-2 page task with supporting material • Feedback will given as per usual assessment format. • These must be done in class • Hand written as first draft

  4. Step 3:GO! Craft Publish • 2 of the Steady pieces will be chosen by the student as their final assessment pieces. • Each piece must be a different text type i.e cannot both be diary entries but may be same register e.g. both creative or both formal • The chosen drafts will be crafted to publication/assessment standard. • Computers may be used but the work must be done under classroom teacher supervision • Both must reach minimum level to achieve
