Karena pertumbuhan teknologi yang semakin tinggi , maka sangat penting untuk bisa bekerja dalam lingkungan digital Salah satunya dunia Multimedia. Persentasi kali ini menyajikan dasar-dasar Photoshop

  3. Darimana kita mendapatkan Foto/Gambar? • Membuat Gambar langsung dari Photoshop • Download Gambar dari WWW • Dari foto scan atau dari kamera digital

  4. Pengenalan Gambar/Image • image kumpulan dari titik-titik (dots) yang dinamakan pixels • Di Photoshop, kita dapat menambahakan, menghapus atau memodifikasi individual pixels atau groups of pixels

  6. Common tasks Photoshop • Resizing an image • “Straightening” an image • Cropping an image • Adjusting brightness and contrast • Adding layers

  7. Resolution • Number of PIXELS per square inch • Monitors display 72 pixels/sq inch • Printers are much higher • 300 pixels/sq inch • File size differences in 1X1 in • Web 5,184 pixels • Print 90,000 pixels

  8. Color • Monitors display light directly • Term RGB (Red Green Blue) • Different monitors may display colors differently • Printing images • Term CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK) • Colors will look different than on the screen

  9. File Formats Use Photoshop to open and create different kinds of file formats

  10. Creating a New File • Click File on the menu bar • Click New • Enter the required width in the Width text box • Enter the required height in the Height text box • Click OK

  11. Saving a File Options • Use Save As to save a file under a new name and to preserve a copy of the original file • Open a file in one file format (e.g., .BMP) and save it in another file format (e.g., .JPG)

  12. Setting Preferences • Use the Preferences dialog box to customize how files are opened in Photoshop • Options include: • Using Open Recent to locate and open files recently worked on • Changing the Image Preview to thumbnails

  13. Opening a File • Use the File Browser to open a file: • Click the File Browser tab in the palette well • Navigate to the location of the file • Double-click the file to open it in Photoshop

  17. Customizing the Workspace • Customize the workspace by positioning elements to suit your working style • To save a workspace: • Click Window on the menu bar, point to Workspace, click Save Workspace, type a name, then click Save

  27. 1. Marqee, Lasso, Magic Wand, Crop a. Marqee: Select a part of an image you are working with arranged form such as rectangular and elliptical. b. Lasso: Draw selection paths freehand with a mouse - If you click and hold, you can change the tool so that you can draw polygons c. Magic wand: select all the same-color or similarly colored adjacent pixels d. Crop: Crop the image - The selected area will be surrounded with a blinking dotted line

  28. 2. Move • Move the image on a selected layer to other part of • canvas you are working 3. Brush, Gradient, Paint Bucket a. Brush: basic tools for drawing a line b. Gradient: this help you to paint stage by stage with more than 2 colors c. Paint Bucket: fill out a cropped part with just one click of this tool

  29. 4. Erase • Erase what you cropped or where you click with • your mouse after selecting this tool 5. Clone Stamp, Pattern Stamp a. Clone Stamp: copy a selected part and restore it where you want b. Pattern Stamp: this is nearly the same tool with clone stamp, but you can arrange the shape you cropped, and you can use it as a fixed shape

  30. 6. Smudge, Dodge, Sponge • Smudge: effect as such rubbing canvas • with fingers b. Dodge: Make it bright the part where you scrub with this tool. c. Sponge: Saturate or desaturate selected part of an image. 7. Text - Type in various characters

  31. 8. Set foreground/background color - Foreground color: the color of image what you draw with a drawing tool such as brush tool • - Background color: when you use the gradient • tool, the color will be different from the foreground • color.

Color/Swatch/Styles Palette • Color Palette: Mix the color (basically • RGB colors) and select it for the • foreground and background colors. • c.f) In case of another color type, you can • choose it among the list of the pop-up menu • You can choose colors among the • samples of colors. • You can choose a special effect of • colors on the layer you selected, such • as texts, buttons, and images

(basically • 20 steps prior to the current work) • c.f) change the number of steps it saves: • Edit > Preferences > General (History States) • Actions Palette: Save basic technical effects • and adjust it to more than one image • Tool Preset Palette: Select the Brush which • you made and saved.

  35. 3. Layers Palette • Layer Palette: Separate each step of • Works from others. • By making layers and working different • steps on each layer, you can make • separate effects on each layer.

  40. Adjustments The following tools are used to alter photos in order to bring out details and balance intensity. Brightness & Contrast Go to the Toolbar, click on Image → Adjustments → Brightness/Contrast Curves Go to the Toolbar, click on Image → Adjustments → Curves Rotations Go to the Toolbar, click on Image → Rotate Canvas

  41. Cropping The Crop Tool is used to remove unwanted space or material. 1. Find the Crop Tool in the toolbox on the left-hand side of the screen. 2. Select desired area. 3. Click on Crop Tool again to finalize.

  42. Resizing There are two methods to resize photos. Resizing photos is a convenient way to make sure the photo is the correct size for a project. Method 1: Go to the Toolbar, click on Image → Image Size. Method 2: Select desired layer, press Ctrl+T on keyboard. Hold down the Shift key to maintain proportions. This method will resize only the selected layer. Adjust width and height to desired measurements. This will resize the entire image.

  43. Layers Layers make it possible to add modifications that can be removed quickly and easily. They can be added individually or can be created from an existing part of the document. To insert a new layer: Go to the Toolbar, click on Layer → New → Layer. To make a layer from the existing document: choose selected area with the marquee tool, right click selected area and choose Layer via Cut/Copy. *To make a layer without deleting it, click the eye.

  48. Flattening Layers • Save before flattening • Save with new name after flattening • Flattening is necessary for many techniques including some file types • Select Layers, Flatten layers

  49. Magic Wand The Magic Wand Tool is used to select all the colors in a certain range. By changing the tolerance, one can adjust the sensitivity between ranges. Step 2: Click the desired color area and experiment with the Tolerance level. Step 1: Click on the Magic Wand Tool in the Toolbox. *By increasing or reducing the Tolerance, one can select more or less of the selected color range, respectively.

  50. Shapes Shapes can be used to create a decorative touch to a picture. Click on the Shape Tool in the Toolbox. Select preferred shape. Drag and drop on picture. Use Text Box to add text if wanted.
