  3. Grade Level Director’s Role • To keep current concerning school and grade level activities and needs. • To pass on information and notices to Grade Level Representatives. • To communicate parent needs and concerns to PTO president and board. • To provide support for parents and teachers.

  4. Grade Level Representatives Are: • A hub of communication for each grade level. • A source of knowledge about PTO activities and programs. • A source of support for room parents. • Effective communicators.

  6. Room Parents’ Role • Room parents are leaders. • Room parents model respectful and principled language and behavior. • Room parents embody the PYP attitudes: • Commitment • Integrity • Appreciation • Respect • Curiosity • Tolerance • Cooperation • Independence • Creativity • Enthusiasm

  7. Room Parents’ Role • Room parents are the primary source of communication and community among class parents. • Room parents’ participation allows teachers to focus on instruction. • Room parents are responsible for effective communication which helps strengthen the Twain community.

  8. Room Parents’ Role • Room parents are the foundation for volunteerism in and out of the classroom. • Delegate - do NOT feel that you must do everything on your own. • Encourage and utilize the diverse talents and capabilities of the parents in your class.
