Mbuk B Ebong, KSJ Director, University Advancement El-Rufai Greetings from the Vice-Chancellor The 22nd Convocation ceremonies have now come and gone. The ceremonies provided both the usual annual event for the award of certificates, diplomas and various degrees of the University to our graduates and an occasion for the launching of Actualising the Future, the Capital Campaign for the University of Port Harcourt. That launching marked the first step in our 5-year campaign to mobilize private and public support for the University. Actualising the Future will provide the resources the University needs to strengthen and expand the academic programmes and prepare our students for the global economy and the information age. We thank all those who attended the ceremonies and were part of this innovation that we have introduced into the Nigerian university system. We are grateful to the Governors of Nassarawa and Kwara States for the pledges they made to support The Capital Campaign Newsletter is published by the Communications and Marketing Unit of the University Advancement Centre. 4
