  10. Four Realities In God’s Promises

  11. 1. MEANING: What does the promise actually say? Delight yourself in the LORD,and he will give you the desires of your heart. Ps 37:4 Delight: Not for spectators; action word involving communication & interaction; seeks knowledge and insight. Will they find delight in the Almighty? Will they call on God at all times? Job 27:10  Desires: Not passive; something requested

  12. Paraphrase: If you really talk with God & get to know Him intimately,He will respond to your requests.

  13. 2. USE:How do you intend to use the promise? You want something but don’t get it. You kill & covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures (amusements, selfish longings). Jm. 4:2,3

  14. 3. CONDITIONS:What conditions must be metfor the promise to be yours? Personalize it. How? • Meet God • Pray • Listen patiently • Expect Guidance • Be Empowered with Grace • Act

  15. 4. HUMILITY: Will you give God the credit for the answer? • Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1Co 10:31 • Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Col 3:17 • Summary: In all you do give God the glory.
