John von Neumann Computer Society To protect the values of the past, to adapt to the present, to influence the future. • Independent professional organization with about 1500 individual, and 30 corporate members • 25 professional communities (Special Interest Groups) in many areas of information technologies, e.g • pattern recognition, • software quality, • computer graphics, • biomedicalapplications, • business information • ergonomics, • usability, • artificial intelligence, • robotics, • web development 13 territorial organizations all over Hungary

Relationships with leading international organizations IFIP, CEPIS, IMIA, IAPR, ECCAI, IT STAR, … Strong connections with IEEE CS since mid 90s • Central and Eastern Europe Initiatives Committee, • European Activities Committee (chaired by Tibor Gyimothy) • cooperation agreements with IEEE and IEEE CS, • IEEE CS Budapest Center, • IEEE CS Forum in JvNCS, • postumus Pioneer Awards (Kalmar, Kozma)
