  1. The Pyrenees By Matthew

  2. Where are Pyrenean Mountains The Pyrenees are located along the border between France and Spain. Sandwiched in between these two countries is a small country called Andorra which is completely engulfed by the eastern Pyrenees. The Pyrenees stretches for 435 miles from east to west from the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean sea the circumference of the Pyrenees is 55,374 km This is the Pyrenees

  3. The Scenery The landscape of the Pyrenees is very impressive, with its great cascading waterfalls, its steep and craggy cliffs, and its high peaks. Here are some facts about them. •The longest waterfall is 462m •The highest mountain is the Pico de Aneto 3404m off sea level.

  4. Ways to get to the Pyrenees One of the most common ways to get to the Pyrenees is by plane, you could go to Bilbao, Barcelona in Spain or Toulouse airport in France. After you arrive at airport you would have to take a long drive of 4-6 hours to get to the Pyrenees. Another popular way of getting is by ferry one the quickest ways would go from Southampton to Bilbao.

  5. Activities As you expect from a great mountain range the main attraction is walking. But if that’s not quite to your taste there are plenty of summer camps which offer a variety of activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, skiing and hang gliding. There are also lots of ski resorts that you can enjoy such as the: •Artouste ski resort in France •The Tavascan resort in Spain •The Vallnord resort in Andorra

  6. Weather in mountains changes very quickly. During the summer its almost toohot. In the winter it snows quite a lot, certainly more than in Britain. The main natural resources are the mineral and hot springs which are abundant whereas in the Alps are not. The value of mined rock isn’t of much importance anymore although there used to be lots of iron mines Weather and Local Resources

  7. Did you know? There is not a internationally agreed definition on how large a mountain range has to be a mountain range. So a cluster of hills could be called a mountain range. The web sites that were used in the making of this production are as follows: •Cordillera de los Pirineos (this website was in Spanish) •The Pyrenees mountains map and details •Wikipedia Info and Acknowledgements
