Promoting Application of Research • Establish two-way interaction with practitioners: • Participate in industry conferences • Involve practitioners in academic conferences • Undertake joint research projects • Solicit practitioner input on research topics • Seek advice on presenting usable findings • Write articles for industry publications: • Participate in practitioner webinars & meetings • Avoid jargon; present practical applications: • Address costs & benefits of implementation

Removing Roadblocks to Success Get access to marketing expertise Connect to innovation incubator organizations Access proprietary data with practitioner relationships Circumvent business model hostility to new ideas Reframe findings as practical "nudge" applications Use interdisciplinary research partners for fresh ideas Network or find someone else who can Solicit constructive input from practitioners Repackage findings to reach other users or stakeholders

  4. Building Bridges Where are the RI innovation hotspots? Who is receptive to new approaches? Where are the best incubators?
