Conservatives • Conservatives were political groups representing the interests of the upper classes, the army and the Church. looking for the country's development without affecting their rights and privileges, and that Catholicism as the official religion was maintained. They believed that capitalism could move towards the new independent country respecting the privileges of the old order, by a route similar to the church or Prussian, that is, through the alliance of the aristocracy to the bourgeoisie, social strata in which regional interests should be subordinated and popular demands, which was required for a strong, authoritarian state, as well as ideological strengthening of the Church.

  5. Liberals • Liberals: Political groups opposed to the conservatives were called liberals. They were followers of the republican model, government that was established in USA.
