  2. PARCC RST Introduction In present day America, children are receiving trophies just for participating in extracurricular activities. As opposed to receiving awards for excelling, they are given trophies to boost their confidence and encourage them to stay involved. Some believe that rewarding children just for participation does not prepare them to compete in the adult world and face disappointments. Assignment Carefully read the following sources. Then synthesize information from the sources and incorporate it into a coherent, well-developed essay that defends, challenges, or qualifies the claim that presenting every child with a trophy does not prepare him/her for the real world.
