  1. VISTA 2030 City Council Work Session April 14, 2014

  2. Since the “Dream Your City” Process: • Staff has drafted VISTA 2030 with the Vision Statement and Dream Your City comments in mind • Several Commissions have reviewed and provided input (EAC, Tourism, Library, Parks & Recreation, West End, Arts & Humanities, CoDI) • The Plan has been re-drafted several times to improve readability and clarity Recap

  3. Public input has been received at: • The Chamber of Commerce Health, Wealth and Wellness Fair at the Mall • Southern Arizona Contractor’s Association (SACA) Home Show at Buena High School • Water Expo at the Mall Public Input

  4. As per State Law, copies of the plan have been provided to adjoining counties and cities, the State AG, SEAGO, AZ Commerce Authority and the Fort • Notification regarding upcoming public meetings will be made on the City Page, VISTA 411, City Facebook, etc Public Input

  5. Stakeholders will be notified of the Plan’s availability: • Chamber of Commerce • SVRHC • EDF • SV Unified School District • Cochise College • Mall at SV • Etc. Public Input

  6. The Planning and Zoning Commission held 11 work sessions to discuss Plan elements on: 8/20, 9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 10/29, 12/3, 12/17, 1/7, 2/4, 2/18, 3/4 • The Commission will hold two Public Hearings as required by state law Planning and Zoning Commission

  7. The P&Z Public Hearing Schedule: • April 29, 5:00 p.m., at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church Activity Center, 3225 St. Andrews Drive (at Buffalo Soldier Trail) • May 6, 5:00 p.m., at City Hall Planning and Zoning Commission

  8. City Council Public Hearing Schedule: • May 22, 5:00 p.m. at City Hall • Council will be asked to vote to set a 30-day public record • June 26, 5:00 p.m. at City Hall – Consider final approval Mayor and City Council

  9. November 4, 2014 – General Election • On the ballot: City of Sierra Vista General Plan, VISTA 2030 Citizen Ratification
