Test Tube Activities at Ohio State (7/29/03). Amphenol/Spectra Strip will send two 10 m long samples of signal cable With a (round) jacket, shielding 20 pairs (more than we need. Can we crimp this to the connectors?) Who will make the signal cables? (I won’t be at SLAC before Aug. 26)

  1. Test Tube Activities at Ohio State (7/29/03) • Amphenol/Spectra Strip will send two 10 m long samples of signal cable • With a (round) jacket, shielding • 20 pairs (more than we need. Can we crimp this to the connectors?) • Who will make the signal cables? (I won’t be at SLAC before Aug. 26) • Kerpen HV cable is not available. • No stock at CERN or Kerpen (in 10, 20 or 25 wire configuration) • 37-wire cable available at Kerpen (not recommended)

  2. HV Connection(s) • HV capacitors • Cable Connector • Anode signal readout • What HV connector? Do we have room for 8? • “Pigtail” for anode signals/short? • Short wires to endcaps • Build at OSU, send to Princeton Large Cell LST 4x 1 MOhm HV 1 nF Anode Signal

  3. Differential Driver and Preamp • Based on Angelo’s design (from Princeton workshop) • On chamber preamp with differential output (4 channel PC board) • Differential receiver and preamp with analog output. • No discriminator or digital output (needs to be added for DAQ readout) • Both modules have been built and are currently being tested. • Will send driver circuit to Princeton for installation in module/Al box.

  4. Integration Questions • How do we connect the signal cables to the strips? • Does everything have to be in the Al box? • Can we have 6’’ pigtails that connect to the signal cable and/or the preamp circuit? • We need to know, how much space is available in Al box (also for HV) • We would like to be able to test several combinations: • Baseline design (no diff. driver/preamp, Standard FE receiver/preamp) • Differential design (with differential preamp, receiver) • Pseudo differential (no diff. driver/preamp, differential receiver) Jumperboard BaselineReceiver Tube 1 DifferentialReceiver* Tube 2 Differential Driver orjumper board Al box * Can go on either tube
