  2. Mission CSF Research Associates are offered the opportunity to interact with the rest of the CSF extended family. Research Associates have the opportunity to interact with the existing diverse human resource network and to contribute to it as they wish. CSF may serve as their primary base of operations or as an additional platform from which to pursue interests outside their regular employment. Should they wish to apply for grants to fund their interests, they will have the benefit of wisdom and counsel from other successful grant recipients and they will also benefit from the low established overhead rate at CSF.

  9. Jeff Stanzler Educational Studies, School of Education Project Director, Interactive Communications & Simulations I am the Managing Director of the Interactive Communications & Simulations (ICS) group. Founded by Professor Fred Goodman, our group designs and facilitates computer-mediated curricular projects that link students from upper elementary through college age with peers and with university mentors. We conduct computer-mediated simulations (including Place out of Time, a historical simulation developed in conjunction with the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies) and other writing-based explorations (such as our Earth Odyssey, a socio-cultural discussion forum based on vicarious travel). Each of these projects engages a team of university students who enroll in one of our School of Education seminars (Education 362 and 462) through which they are engaged in service as mentors to the younger students. I have also been involved with the Master of Arts with Secondary Certification (MAC) Program for several years, and I currently teach the "Teaching with Technology" course for MAC students. Jeff Stanzler's office is located in room 2202 and can be reached by phone at (734) 763-5950, or by e-mail at stanz@umich.edu Associated Offices and/or Projects: Educational Studies (ES) - Interactive Communications and Simulations (ICS) - Master of Arts with Certification (MAC) - Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies
