Basic Features • Objectives: to establish an area of cooperation and modernization in higher education between the European Union and the partner countries in the surrounding area, including Central Asia • Geographical coverage: 27 partner countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and Central Asia • Programme focusing in institutional cooperation • Bottom-up programme mainly implemented through calls for proposals complemented by structural measures targeting higher education system • Grant size = €500,000 to €1,500,000 • Project Duration= up to 36 months

  10. EFA – English For All in Academia, to Foster Education, Research and Innovation

EFA • Design and develop an operative master plan to enhance English knowledge in HE in partner countries, and develop a work programme to enhance English knowledge in higher education at a national level. • Implement teaching in English of at least 4 courses of BA and B.Sc curricula in the participating Israeli academies. • Develop a multidisciplinary pilot e-course - Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) - to enhance the Education–innovation–Research triangle for undergraduate students, to be taught in English in both Israeli and European participating institutions.

EFA • Develop and execute an English language course - Active Participation in English (APiE). • Develop and implement a Teachers Training course and workshops to support transfer of courses into English. • Establish and maintain a user-friendly interactive website and programme-portal to facilitate participating partner countries and EU institutions in adopting, sustaining and further disseminating the project.
