  7. White dwarfs • White dwarf in center of this planetary nebula. • Core of a dying star • Extremely dense star • Its atmosphere collapses in on itself. • Gravity pulls in the heavier material • Very hot

  8. Supergiants and super novas • Supergiant – massive star size of solar system that takes up Jupiter’s orbit. • - Fe core • - can no longer fuse new elements • - core implodes exploding violently into super nova.

  9. Neutron star • A neutron staris a type of remnant that can result from the gravitational collapse of a massive star. • Neutron stars are very hot
