Joint IP Modem Project –Joint IP Modem Anticipated Start Date –First Qtr, FY13 The JIPM PMO will execute a new acquisition strategy for meeting the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) vision for the integration of terrestrial, wireless, and satellite communications. This strategy will be comprised of sustaining Joint IP Modem (JIPM) version 1 (V-1), ensuring V-1 interoperability, and acquiring future JIPM variants to meet current and future requirements for the Services’ and Combatant Commands’ VSAT terminals. The subsequent contract award will help secure a technology roadmap for unified, common satellite network architecture and transport service for efficient and secure satellite communications (SATCOM) capabilities.

  3. Joint IP Modem A determination on a specific contract approach has not been made. It will be dependent on the final scope of work for engineering services, hardware/software procurement and software maintenance. DISA may execute under several contract vehicles. Competition will be sought.
