The Assessment • Psycho Geometrics assessment • Developed by Dr. Susan Dellinger • Designed to characterize your leadership & communication styles by assigning you to a single shape category or a combination of shapes • Self-reporting disclaimer • Proper balance of shape styles; taking shapes to the extreme.

  3. The 5 shapes • Box • Circle • Rectangle • Squiggle • Triangle

  4. Box • Boxes can be: • Organized • Reliable • Hard workers • Stable • Slow to make decisions • Resistant to working in teams

  5. Circle • Circles can be: • Empathetic • Personable • Perceptive • Strong communicators • Hesitant to engage in conflict • Indecisive when it comes to making the tough decisions

  6. Rectangle • Rectangles can be: • Receptive to change • Very insightful • Curious to explore and learn new things • They like to know how things work • Unreliable • Inconsistent

  7. Squiggle • Squiggles can be: • Creative • Abstract thinkers • Energetic • Extroverted & outgoing • Unfocused • Impulsive • Resistant to highly structured environments

  8. Triangle • Triangles can be: • Goal oriented • Decisive • Ambitious • Confident • Overly opinionated • Egotistical • Resistant to accepting others’ ideas

  9. Break out Groups • Items to discuss: • What does your shape or shape combination need in order to be successful? • What shapes do you work best with? Worst with? • How do you perceive the other shapes? How do you think other shapes perceive you? • What are the best things about your shape? The worst? • Why do you think this particular shape was chosen to represent your leadership style? • What are the benefits to having a team with one type of shape? With all types?

  10. Two types of shapes Convergent Divergent • Box, rectangle, and triangle • Working towards goals in a logical and methodical way • Linear; sequential thinking • Circles and squiggles • Working towards goals in a creative and intuitive way • Non-linear; abstract thinkers
