What is N.E.E.D. • A database of national employers with multiple sites. • High level agreement (CEO, HRD) • ‘Top-down’ authority to use at local level • Network of shared best practice in employer engagement • Single point of contact at employer for reporting • This is in addition to any existing relationships

  6. Timeline thus far Idea launched at QAC September ‘13 Visits to Natspec Colleges Nov ‘13 - Jan ‘14 First pilots starting to roll out to colleges March’14 Idea presented to Natspec Principals Forum October 9th ‘13 Employer Engagement aspect February ‘14

  7. Phase 1 – Natspec Colleges • Presented to Principals Forum 9th October • Since 8th November, 50 colleges have been visited • 30 have signed up • 6 have declined • 14 awaiting answer • We have now started the ‘Employer phase’

  9. Phase 2 –employers • The SLA with colleges is currently 4 new employers into the database per academic half term • Including the original 5 this will give us 29 in Y1 • Employers seem to like the idea of pilots
