Shakespearian Sonnet

The red blossom bends

And drips its dew to the ground

Like a tear it falls

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And Summer's lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And oft' is his gold complexion dimm'd;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd:

But thy eternal Summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;

Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou growest:

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Italian Sonnet

Turn back the heart you've turned awayGive back your kissing breathLeave not my love as you have leftThe broken hearts of yesterdayBut wait, be still, don't lose this wayAffection now, for what you guessMay be something more, could be lessAccept my love, live for today.Your roses wilted, as love spurnedYet trust in me, my love and truthDwell in my heart, from which you've turnedMy strength as great as yours aloof.It is in fear you turn awayAnd miss the chance of love today!
