  2. planning the event • - Venue varies for different schools • -”sit down dinner” is decided, yes or no • -cost per head for food is also determined within school administration • -budget is set by the school • -theme & decorations can be determined by students

  3. overall decorations • -Using the set budget, many things can be put together for the theme • -balance what is ‘cheap’ with what tends to be more costly • -example: balloons vs. helium • -cheap balloons, helium tends to be more costly • -companies can do balloon rainbows at ?cheaper price? • -make sure to fill the whole room; open spaces will look like poor planning

  4. table toppers • -set a separate budget off of the overall for tables • -know how many tables there are • -get more for less; if you have bigger tables • -opposite for small tables; too much won’t allow room for eating • -full idea of what to have is needed to make price decisions • -pay attention to detail and set-up times

  5. girls on a budget • -figure out what YOU can afford • -Prices may range from $50 - $1000 • -decide on a style/color to make things easier when searching • -look at local stores like: • +David’s formal • +Ross • +China Town: Do’s & Local Design • -or look online...

  6. online sites • http://www.promgirl.com/ • http://www.bestpromdresses.com/ • http://www.promdress4less.com

  7. guys on a budget • -also set a budget like girls • -price range $40 - $200 to rent • -look for places with special prom ‘deals’ • -more substitutions because tuxedos • -need to go in early to fit • -look locally: • +Celebrity Tuxedos • -online isn’t a very good option because you can’t fit

  8. flowers / lei • -Go to China town for maile lei • -bouquet are pricey • -better to buy your own flowers and ask someone to arrange it • -simple arrangements are fine
