Counselor Recommendation Scholarships Community Merit & Leadership Book Scholarships • We save room for you! • Goal: 1 student from each high school receives a scholarship • Nomination form online • www.otc.edu– search Counselor’s Toolbox • http://students.otc.edu/financialaid/counselor-s-toolbox • Nominate now thru March 1

  4. Community Merit Scholarship • $2,000 annually ($1000 fall/$1000 spring) – renewable –prorated based on credit hours • Acts as tuition & fee waiver • Can pay after A+ towards unpaid misc fees • Criteria • In district • 2.75 GPA • School/community/civil activities

Leadership Book Scholarship • $1,500 annually - renewable • $750 fall/$750 spring for books & fees • A+ student: Can help pay for books/non-covered fees • Good for purchases at OTC Bookstore charged to the student’s account • Look for a leader well respected by peers & teachers, even if GPA doesn’t always show it

InstitutionalScholarships • Provided by the college • Chancellor’s- $1250 fall/$1250 spring • 3.3 CGPA, top 25%, ACT of 22 • Trustees’ - $1500 fall/$1500 spring • 3.5 CGPA, top 10%, ACT of 25 • Community Merit • Pays toward tuition & fees • Can pay for misc fees not covered by the A+ program • “Scholarship Application for Graduating HS Seniors”

  7. A+ Advantage Scholarship • OTC awards 100 scholarships to eligible A+ students without resources to pay for books or miscellaneous fees. • $500 Value (up to $250 per semester) • Students write a short essay on what A+ means to them • Link found on A+ page of OTC website

  8. FoundationScholarships Privately funded by local donors 80+ scholarships – 1 application 2020-2021: 200+ students will receive$300,000+ No GPA at OTC yet? Eligible for 40+ Other financial aid does NOT disqualify for most Pays tuition, fees, and/or books Apply online at www.otc.edu/foundation

  9. Student responsibilities & deadlines • Apply for admission • Submit FAFSA to OTC • Apply for scholarship • Deadline: June 1 for fall • March 1 - Counselor nominations are due • April 1 - Student deadline if they want to be awarded at awards assembly
