  2. CSR • “The Social Responsibility of Business is to Increase its Profits” (NYTimes 1970), pundits have pondered whether his purist interpretation was really the only way.

  3. Focused on • Development of positive impact of firms on society  • Development of global corporate responsibility  • Development of permanent sustainable entrepreneurship BLF is part of international movement for proper corporate citizenship called International Business Leaders Forum. 

  4. Why be socially responsible • act respectably to customers • take care of their employees • take care of good neighbourhood relationship • protect the environment Bring the advantages to the enterprise – avoid pressure and expectation from customers, local community, governmental institution

  5. Interested Parties • Interested parties – stakeholders – are all persons, institutions or organizations that have an impact on enterprises operations or are affected by it. These include investors, employees, customers, business partners, government representatives, media, unions, international organizations and others. • Applying the CSR concept is a process of building the confidence of different interested parties in functioning of the firm. This confidence the firm gains by trying to understand expectations of its stakeholders. • Stakeholders can be divided  according to importance into two groups:primary and secondary.

Stakeholders • Primary stakeholders • ¦ owners and investors • ¦ employees • ¦ customers (existing or potential) • ¦ business partners (especially suppliers) • ¦ local community • ¦ environmental non-profit organizations •      and other speakers for the environment • Secondary stakeholders • ¦ public • ¦ governmental institutions and local governmental authorities • ¦ lobbyists and various pressure groups • ¦ competitors • ¦ media • ¦ civic and business associations

Questionnaire • Questionnaires2 taken from the European Commission will show you which responsible activities you are already carry out, and give you a wide range of ideas how to strengthen enterprise performance and reputation as well. • Its completing should take no more than ten minutes. There are no right or wrong answers – the questions are intended to encourage and inspire you to implement appropriate measures. Mark the answers that the best describe the reality in your enterprise, and think about them.
