This membership is about traveling prepared with a plan that provides you a premium air medical evacuation service. • So even if you are miles away from home, your membership will provide more than just a medical flight it offers peace of mind and assurance that world-class care is on its way.

  4. Why you need TAP • More than 13.5 million travelers are hospitalized each year while traveling away from home. • Over 500,000 air medical transports occur annually worldwide. • Medical evacuation can cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars. • Travel insurance may only cover the cost to the nearest adequate facility by most economical means. • As members, if you require admission to a specialty hospital more than 200 miles from home and need continuous medical care, our preferred provider will arrange air medical transportation to the specialty hospital.

A Travel Assurance Promise™ premium membership will provide you air medical evacuation to your home hospital of choice or to a hospital in your state that can best care for you.

  16. FAQs • When will my membership become active? Your membership becomes active within two business days of your completed enrollment application, upon review and confirmation by Travel Assurance Promise™ and receipt of your membership fee. • Why would I need an air ambulance? • If you have a critical illness or injury where you cannot be transported by commercial air transportation. • If you have an extensive injury, or if urgent medical attention is needed, and time is crucial. • If you are injured or seriously ill in a foreign country. • If you require continued care and treatment and prefer to return to your healthcare network, your doctors, your hospital and back with your family. • If you have an illness or injury that would require a specialist at another hospital or geographic location.

  17. FAQs • How many transports am I allowed per year? Annual memberships and five-year memberships include up to two transports per year per member covered in the plan. Short-term memberships include one transport per year per member covered in the plan. • Is there a limit on air medical transport expenses? Many travel insurance and health insurance policies have limits. Travel Assurance Promise™ does not set a limit on medical evacuation expenses. There are no deductibles, no co-pays, no out-of-pocket costs and no confusing claim forms to file. Your membership fee is all you pay.

  18. FAQs • What is the definition of “family” under a family plan membership? Family is defined as the primary member, plus spouse/companion and up to three dependents under the age of 23 living in the primary member’s residence. Family dependents, if enrolling, must also meet the requirements published in the enrollment application. If a dependent is a student, missionary or volunteer living 200 miles or more away from the primary member’s residence for more than 90 days, a separate student membership is required. • Doesn’t my health insurance policy cover medical evacuation? In cases when traveling internationally or out of network, many travelers may be surprised to learn that their health insurance does not always cover all medical evacuation and repatriation expenses to bring you back home.

  19. FAQs • How will my companion traveler get home? A traveling companion will be able to fly with you on the air ambulance jet. • Do you provide medical escorts? If an air medical evacuation is not necessary, but an air medical escort is needed to get you back home, Travel Assurance Promise™ will arrange and provide this service at no additional cost. • If I have a preexisting condition, can I enroll in a membership? For all pre-existing conditions, you will need to contact a Travel Assurance Promise™ consultant.
