The Association for Support and Training of Women Candidates • Founded on 4 March 1997, KA-DER aims to increase the representation of women in all elected and appointed positions, within decision-making bodies. • KA-DER was established by a group of women from different sectors, in order to empower and encourage women and develop strategies for effective and equal • participation of women at local and national parliaments and at all decision making bodies.   4. The Association for Support and Training of Women Candidates Campaigns: • Campaign for 2007 General Elections: KA-DER ran a successful campaign prior to the 2007 July elections. The message was simple: “Do we have to have a moustache to go into the Parliament?” This campaign has been highly successful, supported by more than 300 NGOs from all over Turkey, and by various artists, business women, singers, etc who provided their faces to be used in campaign billboards. Owing to the 10-year work, KA-DER has been realizing, 50 women have been elected as MPs in the 22 July 2007 elections. The percentage has been doubled, and been the highest in Turkish history.
