  3. Betty Abernathy She was born in 1852. She was a slave in Arkansas, and was treated horribly. Until her neighbor stole her and twelve others and took her to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. There she lived the rest of her life a free women.

  5. Carrie Bradley Logan Bennet She was born near Mobile, AL but in Mississippi. Her owners were Massa Tom Logan and Liza Jane. Massa Tom died in the Civil War in 1863. The plantain had 2 to 3 slave families that lived there. After many years Liza Jane died of natural causes. She then moved to Hernado MS. Carrie Bennet had 8 children, but 2 lived to adulthood. She had a near death experience with the Ku Klux Klan.
