School Times, Absences & Tardies • Classrooms open at 8:40am & 12:25 PM (PM Prekindergarten) • Classes Begins at 8:45 & 12:30 (PM Prekindergarten) • Attendance is taken at 8:45 & 12:30 – If you arrive after 8:50 or 12:35, please bring your child into the office for a tardy slip in order to be admitted to class. • Please make every effort to have your child at school by 8:45 & 12:30. Excessive tardies interrupts the classroom activities. • If your child will be absent from school, please contact the office before 9:00am. • Regular on time attendance is expected for all students and is a part of their permanent record. Excessive absences or tardies will be addressed by the Administration and a conference will be scheduled with Mr. Galbreath.

  5. Invoices and Payments • TUITION invoices will be sent home in the Wednesday Folder on the last Wednesday of every month. Payments are due on the 1st day of each month and are considered late after the 10th. • Payments received after the 10th day of the month will be assessed a $15.00 late fee. • DAYCARE invoices will be sent home in Wednesday Folders by the 7th day of the month for the preceding month’s charges. • Payments are due 2 weeks after the day invoices are issued. The date due is noted on the invoice. • Payments received after the due date noted on the invoice will be assessed a $15.00 late

Parking Lot Safety • When picking up or dropping off your child, please park in a designated parking slot. • Walk your child into and out of their classroom – DONOT let them walk through the parking lot by themselves. • Siblings and other children should never be left unattended in your vehicle. • Please be conscious of your language. • Smoking is not permitted anywhere on school grounds. • DRIVE SLOWLY!!! (5 m.p.h. or less) • PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING CELL PHONES OR TEXTING!!!

Dress Code Purpose • The purpose of the dress and appearance code is to promote modesty and neatness and to place emphasis on learning rather than competition in dress. • To communicate to students and parents a conservative position in dress that is consistent with our conservative Biblical perspective. • To limit distractions that are promoted by fad-type apparel. • To establish a school spirit of order and conformity to an established standard.

  9. General Requirements for All Students • There should be no question as to whether an article of clothing provides adequate coverage of body parts. Midriffs must not show, even when the students arms are extended over their head. • Sweatshirts are considered outerwear and are not to be worn inside with the exception of PSCS logo sweatshirts. • Shorts (knee length only, not exceeding higher than 1 inch above the knee) or capris are permitted only during the months of Sept. to mid Oct. and after Spring Vacation, late April-June. • On Chapel day only (Wednesday), boys must wear a collared shirt and slacks, girls must wear dresses or skirts. (Girls hemlines are not to exceed higher than 1 inch above the knee.) There are no color restrictions on chapel day. Dresses with thin straps must be worn with an appropriate undershirt or with a sweater/vest that covers the shoulders at all times.

  10. Kindergarten-5th Grade Dress CodeBoys & Girls Top Attire • Polo shirts must be worn. Any color or pattern is acceptable. Long sleeved undershirts may be worn underneath Polo shirt for warmth. Button down shirts are permitted on chapel day. • Crewneck sweaters, and sweater vests of any solid color (no patterns, logos, or words) may be worn over a polo shirt. PSCS logo sweatshirts may also be worn over a polo shirt. • Sweatshirts (crewneck, hooded, and zip up) are considered outerwear and are not to be worn indoors with the exception of PSCS logo sweatshirts only.

  11. Kindergarten-5th Grade Dress CodeBoys & Girls Bottom Attire • Pants- Only blue, black, or khaki/tan dress pants/slacks can be worn. This includes dressy cargo pants and non-faded corduroy pants. • Shorts-Knee length shorts are permitted during the months of Sept.-mid Oct. and after Spring Vacation, late April-June. Shorts must not exceed higher than 1 inch above the knee. • Sweatpants or warm-up style pants are not allowed. Girls Only • Skirts/Jumpers - Blue, black, or khaki/tan skirts or jumpers may also be worn but must not exceed higher than 1 inch above the knee. • Leggings may be worn underneath skirts but the skirt must not exceed higher than 1 inch above the knee. • Shorts must be worn under skirts for modesty purposes.

  12. Preschool and Prekindergarten • Cartoon characters, musical bands, movie or TV characters are not allowed on clothing. Sweatpants, army fatigues, college or professional sport athletic wear, torn clothing or beach type apparel; tank tops and tube tops are not acceptable. • Clothing with brand name logos are acceptable. No other printed words are permitted. • Slacks are preferred. Jeans may be worn, but must be neat and tidy; hemmed and no holes. Baggy, hip hugger, or skinny styles are not permitted. A belt must be worn with loose pants.

  13. Hair, Accessories, Shoes Hair Boys: Hair must be neat and cleanly groomed above the collar and not to impair their vision. Girls: Hair must be neat and cleanly groomed and not to impair their vision. *Extreme styles, unnatural colors, and pony tails are not permitted. Accessories Boys: Accessories must not be distracting. Earrings are not permitted. Girls: Jewelry and accessories must be kept to a minimum. Only post style earrings are permitted. Shoes All: Closed toe shoes and socks are required at all times. Sandals, flip flops, Crocks, and Keens are not permitted.

  14. Friday Dress Code • Blue jeans that are neat and tidy may be worn on Fridays only. There must be no holes or frayed edges. Baggy, hip hugger, and skinny jeans are not permitted. • Students may wear a PSCS logo t-shirt on Fridays only, or regular dress code polo shirt attire will apply. (Unless it’s a school wide “Fun Friday” event.) • Fun Friday is designed for students to show their school spirit. On select Fridays, students will be allowed to wear specific clothing such as favorite sport, career, super hero, etc.

  15. Keys to DisciplineKindergarten-5th Grade • Purple Key-Great Behavior • Green Key-First Infraction • Yellow Key-Second Infraction (Loss of 10 min. of recess) • Orange Key-Third Infraction (Loss of 10 more min. of recess) • Red Key-Fourth Infraction (Sent to Principal’s Office)

  16. Keys to Discipline2nd Grade-5th Grade • 3 Green Keys for a repetitive offense in one week will result in after school detention. • 2 Yellow Keys in one week will result in one after school detention. • 1 Orange Key in one week will result in one after school detention. • 1 Red Key in one week will result in two after school detentions. • Detentions will be served on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:00. This will be a quiet time for reflection, doing homework will not be allowed.

  17. Fundraisers • Fall: Northwest Fundraising Catalog • We will again this year be selling items from NW Fundraising’s Holiday and Gourmet Cookie catalogs. • We will have a kick-off assembly on September 26th, explaining the sale to all students. Students who want to participate must have a signed permission slip turned in to the office. Students receive prizes for participating in the sale. • All order forms and money must be turned into the office by October 12th. • Samples are available in the entry way.

  18. Fundraisers Continued • Spring: 22ND Annual E.A.G.L.E. AUCTION Friday, April 26, 2013 (Tentative) • All parents’ participation is needed to meet or exceed our goal of $30,000.00!! • A collaboration of parents, grandparents, board members and teachers form a Committee. Specific Committee members will “Chair” or Lead different groups including catalog design, logging in and assignment of all items donated, decorations, procurement, set up and clean up, and many more tasks. • Room parents are selected for classroom projects and theme baskets.

  19. Auction Continued • A Parent Auction Information Meeting is set for Tuesday, October 16, 6:30 PM. This is not a mandatory meeting but we would like at least one parent from each family to attend • Please prayerfully consider your participation in the Auction.
