  1. Mathematics Project SAT & Sequences • Essa Hamad Ahmad • Marwan Obaid • Faisal Al Mansouri • 12-07

  2. Task1: 􏰀 What is the SAT exam? Most widely used college admission test. 􏰀 What is the target score for ATHS students? Minimum 520 􏰀 How the SAT test is scored? 1- [ +1 point for questions you get correct ] 2- [ -1/4 point subtracted for incorrect multiple-choice ] 3- [ 0 points subtracted for incorrect student-produced response (math section) ] 4- [ 0 points subtracted for questions you don't answer ]

  3. 􏰀 Mention 10 tips to score more in SAT? 1- Use Process of Elimination (POE) 2- Answer every question only if you can eliminate answer choices. 3- Leave any question blank where you can't identify at least one wrong choice( except grid-i ) 4- Write in the test booklet 5- Transfer your questions at the end of each section. 6- Slow down a little bit, answer fewer questions correctly instead of guessing at the entire lot. 7- Choose which questions to answer first. 8- Remember the order of difficulty. 9- Cross-check your ovals 1- Don't second-guess yourself.

  4. 􏰀 What is the minimum number of correct answers you need in each section to reach the target? 15 correct answer in section 1 15 correct answer in section 2 6 correct answer in section 3

  5. Task3: 􀂙 Given the sequence: 11, 7, 3, -1, … 1. Determine the type of sequence? Arithmetic 2. Find the next three terms of the sequence. -5,-9,-19 3. Write a formula for the sequence. an = 15 - 4n 4. In your own language write about this type of sequences. decrease 4 to find the next sequence

  6. 􀂙 Given the sequence: 5, 25, 125, 625, … 1. Determine the type of sequence? Geomatric 2. Find the next three terms of the sequence. 3125, 15625, 78125 3. Write a formula for the sequence. an=5(5)n-1 4. In your own language write about this type of sequences. it's a geomatric sequnce and we should times by 5

  7. 􀂙 Given the sequence: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, ….. 1. Determine the type of sequence? Nethier Arithmatic or Geometric 2. Find the next three terms of the sequence. 5, 8, 13 3. Write a formula for the sequence. an = an-1 + an-2 4. In your own language write about this type of sequences. add two previous sequence to find next sequence.
