  2. Outline of Presentation • Introduce Mainstream Engagement Concept; • Describe process leading to event; • Describe the event; • Refer to products and follow-up.

Process (1) • National Thematic Networks • Helping unemployed and inactive find a job, preventing ltu; • Encouraging the creation of more and better jobs by fostering entrepreneurship; • Promoting the adaptability of workers and firms to change; • Providing more and better investment in human capital / LLL; • Combating discrimination against disadvantaged groups (cross-cutting)

  5. Process (2) Preparatory event to focus and clarify messages. Promoters asked to: • Identify the issues that projects address that are relevant within the given policy context; • Identify successes achieved in relation to these issues; • Identify the key / unique contextual contributors to those success – i.e. what was it within EQUAL project that facilitated change / success; • Identify the indicators of those successes – i.e. how you know you have been successful – what did you measure and how; • Identify / discuss what it is in relation to identified successes, that should or could be mainstreamed; • What organisation(s) is best placed to mainstream.

  6. Process (3) • Each group asked to nominate three/four representatives to present at Event on the group’s behalf; • Following the preparatory event, the nominated representatives to co-develop a paper reflecting the views and achievements of the projects represented in their respective groups. • This paper to be circulated to all other group members for comment - agreed paper to form basis for the presentation at the Engagement Event.

  7. Process (4) • All projects required to complete a Mainstreaming Capture Form - designed to allow projects to succinctly describe what they saw as the mainstreaming value of your project; • NSS put together a document and pack to facilitate communication of ideas, approaches, concepts etc. and to allow promoters to easily present their project to policy makers and other key people who attended; • Developed the Mainstream Engagement Document.
