Past Group Buying Agreements • ACTEM, SERESC, MassCUE (2005-2007) • NEISTE Agreement (2008) • ISTE Agreement (2009) • Goal: Enable smaller schools and districts to access higher volume pricing than they could typically achieve on their own • Discounts in excess of 50% • Enable access to more products with lower investment

  3. ISTE Affiliate Agreement 2010 • Extension of Nationally negotiated agreement between ISTE and FirstClass • Designed to give all Affiliates the opportunity to bring this pricing to their members

  4. Continued from Past Agreements • Joint marketing efforts to promote FirstClass and agreement • Heavily discounted FirstClass pricing • Fixed ‘purchase window’ timeframe (end date: June 18th, 2010) • Customers receive pricing/quotes from FirstClass or FirstClass Partners

Continued from Past Agreements • Affiliates may choose to process orders • 2% Processing Fee available to Affiliates that purchase on behalf of members • Affiliate receives orders from customers and issues PO to FirstClass; can allow customers early access to next budget year’s funds • Net 45 Day terms allow time to collect

  6. National ISTE Agreement Specifics • Purchase window (NOW OPEN) January 1 - June 18th, 2010 • Highest volume pricing available to all schools & districts • Each affiliate may choose if and how to participate

Order Process (same as 2009) • Customer completes Order Form and creates PO (or PO Requisition) • Customer submit via fax or email to State Affiliate or Channel Partner (Channel Partner submit to Affiliate) to verify membership • Affiliate submit to Open Text • If processing orders, submit with their own PO, less processing fee • Direct pass-thru option for Affiliates not willing/able to process the order

Role of ISTE & Affiliates • Each Affiliate provides a point-person for contact from schools/districts and FirstClass/partners • Point person should be well versed in the agreement and information (w/ support from FC) • Marketing: actively promote the agreement at events, meetings, newsletters, mailings, website, email/listserv, etc.

Role of ISTE & Affiliates • Create opportunities for FirstClass & partners to demonstrate/showcase • Accepts orders from schools/districts, pass through to FirstClass • With or without PO from Affiliate • Taking the PO is the way to receive processing fee • Decide whether to take PO Req or Letter of Intent for next budget year • If accepting PO Req or Letter of Intent, a copy of end customer document will have to be provided to Open Text

  15. FAQs • Are all FirstClass products included? • Yes. All FirstClass product lines are included. Some additional license types (eg. Voice Services server licenses) are specific to each installation and are not included.

  16. FAQs • Can the Affiliates provide quotes to end customers? • No. Customers should receive quotes from FirstClass or authorized Channel Partners. A FirstClass representative will be assigned to provide pricing to customers requesting info directly from affiliates.

  17. FAQs • Can the Affiliate issue a PO even if the customer can’t provide a PO until next FY (eg. July 1)? • Yes. Each Affiliate may decide to purchase on behalf of their members. • Net 60 Day terms are available. • Appropriate documentation should be requested from the school or district. End customer documentation should be provided along with customer order to Open Text. • Can only be offered if Affiliate issues PO on behalf of customer.

  18. FAQs • Can the Affiliate mark up prices? • No. The pricing from FirstClass (Price Calculator) must be the quoted price to end users across all 50 states. A processing fee is available to Affiliates to help offset costs. Active promotion will increase volume.

  19. FAQs • Can FirstClass or FirstClass Partners provide more information for interested schools/districts? • Yes. FirstClass and our partners are available for demonstrations and questions both in person and online as needed.

  20. FAQs • Is FirstClass Maintenance & Support included? • FirstClass Maintenance & Support cost is a percentage of the license purchase price. Licenses purchased under this agreement will renew for significantly less than licenses purchased outside of this agreement. • Ongoing M&S on licenses purchased prior to this agreement is not affected and must be renewed separately according to the renewal schedule.

  21. FAQs • Are Professional Services from Open Text included? • Yes. Professional Services from Open Text must be quoted by a FirstClass representative and are available at discounted daily rates. Services provided by FirstClass partners should be arranged separately. Payment for services provided by Partners must be on a separate PO.

  22. FAQs • Can multiple customers schedule group training or services? • Yes. Custom group training programs delivered by Open Text Professional Services may be arranged for multiple customers in the same area purchasing the same product lines (eg. ED, RWD)
