  1. Dewey Decimal System Posters • I can describe different categories. • I can explain and show how they are used in the library.

  2. Remember: You are going to find out more about 1 category. • Each GROUP is assigned a set of 100 (100 – 199, 200 – 299, 300 – 399, etc). • Find your group. • Then go look at that category of books. • What are they about? How could you show it on a poster? Pick a few books to help you with examples and drawings. • We will put the books in number order under the bulletin board to use next week.

  3. Remember: Your poster should include: • The number and the category • For example: Pure Sciences – 500 – 599 (2 points {.1 for numbers, 1 for category}) • 10 pictures or sentences to describe your category. • Remember: you are trying to teach others about your category, make it easy to read and understand. Show examples to help others see what the category is about. (10 points) • An example of when you might need your category. • (1 point)

  4. The End of Posters!!! • I would like for the posters to be finished today, so that we can start a new project next week. • Look at your checklist to see what you need to finish.

  5. Checklist • Use your checklist to check that are finished COMPLETELY. • Put the COMPLETED poster and your checklist in the orange box. • Make sure you have cleaned up around your table. • Please shelve the books you used, don’t just throw them on any shelf. Thank you.

  6. After you have cleaned up: • You may checkout.
