### Dewey Decimal System Posters

• I can describe different categories.

• I can explain and show how they are used in the library.

### Remember: You are going to find out more about 1 category.

• Each GROUP is assigned a set of 100 (100 – 199, 200 – 299, 300 – 399, etc).

• Then go look at that category of books.

• What are they about? How could you show it on a poster? Pick a few books to help you with examples and drawings.

• We will put the books in number order under the bulletin board to use next week.

### Remember: Your poster should include:

• The number and the category

• For example: Pure Sciences – 500 – 599 (2 points {.1 for numbers, 1 for category})

• 10 pictures or sentences to describe your category.

• Remember: you are trying to teach others about your category, make it easy to read and understand. Show examples to help others see what the category is about. (10 points)

• An example of when you might need your category.

• (1 point)
