Administrator, PBIS School Coordinator and PBIS School Leadership Team • Role of the PBIS School Leadership Team: • Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the PBIS Implementation Plan (at the Universal Level). This includes: • A statement of common purpose • 3-5 positively stated behavioral expectations • Systems for teaching behavioral expectations • Systems for acknowledging and rewarding behavioral expectations • Systems for discouraging problem behaviors • Data management systems

Administrator, PBIS School Coordinator and PBIS School Leadership Team • Role of the PBIS School Coordinator: • Support Leadership Team with action planning, implementation, • sustainability and accountability • Team reinforcement (positive nag) • Facilitate the use of data in decision making • Public relations and communications • Organize and report data to Team and to State • Attend regional coordinator meetings (bi-monthly) • Attend training events

Administrator, PBIS School Coordinator and PBIS School Leadership Team • Role of the Administrator: • Support and participate in PBIS School Leadership Team meetings • Make PBIS visible through frequent communication with staff • Ensure support is in place – from SU, School coordinator, behavior • specialist, team • Seek feedback from all staff • Present to parents • Promote fidelity of implementation • Use data for EVERYTHING! • MAKE IT FUN FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF

Supervisory Union/District Coordinators and SU/District Leadership Team • Role of SU/District PBIS Coordinator: • Establish Supervisory Union Team • Conduct or coordinate school-based evaluations and assessments (SET, EBS)  • Act as a liaison between schools and VTPBiS State Team • Attend school leadership team meetings 2-3 times per year • Establish quarterly Supervisory Union meetings • Develop a dissemination strategy to establish visibility • Ensure student social behavior is a top priority of the SU

The PBIS SU/District Coordinator Creates a SU-wide PBIS Culture: • Maintain regular communication & support between school teams & the SU • Provide Vision and establish commitments for school participation • Create SU capacity for training & maintaining PBIS • Collect ongoing SU-wide and individual data to monitor, motivate, and inform needs at participating schools • Create a plan for all levels of PBIS Implementation and Support • Develop SU PBIS calendar • Write into SU policies and handbooks • Make things as easy as possible for teams to do • Secure resources for school teams • PBIS Showcase: Make success VISIBLE!

  11. PBIS SU/District Coordinator Pre-requisites: Attendance at introductory trainings Role endorsed by superintendent Flexibility to complete PBIS tasks Positive rapport with school staff and professional credibility Interest in performing responsibilities of SU/District coordinator

VTPBiS State TEAM and VTPBiS Coaches • Role of VTPBiS State Team: • Provide support for Implementation (resources, training, coaching) • Follow a data-based state action plan • Policy & funding • Communications • Identify state exemplars • Evaluation • Role of VTPBiS Coaches: • Meet with school team(s) 3-4 times per year to provide support and TA • Monitor team efforts using PBIS data tools • Assist SU/District to build capacity for sustained implementation (re- • define your role over time)

  27. Completing the SET: Who does what? VTPBiS State Team and Coaches: • Remind SU/school when SET needs to be done. • Coordinate times to meet with schools. SU/District PBIS Coordinators: • Receive on-site training from VTPBiS Coach with eventual goal to become independent at completing SETs for schools within SU. School Administrators: • Be available for 30 minute interview with SET evaluator. Have materials ready. Notify school staff and students that evaluator will be asking questions. PBIS School Coordinators: • Support the administrator in preparing for the SET. Facilitate using SET results in School Leadership Team action planning.

VTPBiS State Team and Coaches: • Set up school accounts through www.pbssurveys.org. • Remind SU/school about annual date for online completion. • Support school in using as guide for action planning. SU/District PBIS Coordinators: • Support schools to complete TIC and use in action planning. School Administrators: • Use for action planning. PBIS School Coordinators: • Facilitate completion of TIC with Leadership Team. • Use TIC results in School Leadership Team action planning.
