  6. Charles Stewart Parnell Born on the 27th of June in 1846, into a family of Anglo-Irish Protestant landowners. In 1875, Parnell was elected to the House of Commons in the “Home Rule.”

  7. Charles Stewart Parnell As an Irish political leader, Parnell influences many characters’ decisions in the novel. His determination for freedom from the British seemed to promise Ireland freedom. However, when the details of his affair is revealed, he fell from the grace of many. His fervent exhaustion to regain his previous position resulted in his death.
