School of Business Events • Wednesday, October 21st 6:00 – 8:00 pm • UBLC Networking Forum in Alumni House • Be sure to register online for this AMAZING opportunity to network with Alumni and Business Professionals while perfecting your Elevator Pitch! • The Career Center will have preparation sessions on October 14th. • Last year we won an award for having the largest percentage of members attend… Let’s do it again this year! • Thursday, December 3rd 4:30 – 7:30 pm • Family Business Awards in Alumni House • The Connecticut Family Business of the Year Awards recognizes successful family firms evaluated on business success, positive family and business linkages, multi-generational family involvement, dynamic contributions to community and industry, and innovative practices and strategies.

CCEI/OTC Seminar Series • The CT Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Office of Technology Commercialization are offering a new seminar and interactive panel series targeted at graduate and undergraduate students that will help you answer the questions of how to start your own business – and provide a forum for meeting and networking with like-minded UCONN students from different schools. • Thursday, September 24th from 5:00 – 7:00pm • Kickoff Meeting in the School of Business Café. The panel will include: • CJ Force and Geoff Cullen, GoMotion, a UCONN student startup. • Tom Zawacki, Serial Entrepreneur, CEO – lemonade.com • Luke Weinstein, CCEI Professor • Other Dates Planned this semester: • October 7th and 22nd • November 4th and 18th • December 3rd

BUSY Mentoring Program • BUSY is designed to connect lower division or transfer students who have expressed an interest in Business majors with an upper division peer mentor that will provide guidance and support throughout the year. • The program’s goals include: • Promoting awareness of the UConn School of Business’s academic and professional opportunities that will help enhance students’ undergraduate experience. • Building a strong sense of community among School of Business faculty, staff, and students. • Providing students with a formalized means of sharing valuable insight and experiences with their peers. • Creating an opportunity for freshman, sophomore and transfer students to form early connections within the School of Business. • To apply as a mentor or a mentee, please see our Ad in the Biz, check us out on the SEO website or contact us at: uconnbusy@gmail.com
