  4. Goals For Student Achievement • Raise student achievement on MME • Specifically, raise proficiency levels to 55% in all subject areas by 2015-2016

  5. What Are PLCs • Educators working collectively • Inquiring and researching to achieve better results from students • Continuous learning for educators

  6. Three-year Plan • Professional development (2013-2014) • Implementation of PLCs (2014-2015) • Evaluate, reflect, assess, and make changes (2015-2016)

  7. 2013-2014 School Year • Get all stakeholders on board • Professional development • No lectures or presentations • Adult learning theory (Andragogy) • Problem based • Inquiry • Discussion and collaboration • Reflect and evaluate

  8. 2014-2015 School Year • Nurture staff still fearing change and collaboration • Implementation of PLCs • Subject specific teams • Weekly meetings • Built into teachers schedule • Use of technology for additional collaboration • Reflect and evaluate

  9. 2015-2016 School Year • Build on strengths of PLCs • Identify weaknesses and make appropriate changes • Analyze data for increased student achievement • Continue collaborating
