District Profile • Districts:-One , Dadra & Nagar Haveli • Subdivision:- 2 Silvassa & Khanvel • Patelad:- 11 • Constituency:- One Parliamentary & No Assembly. • Literacy Rate:-77.65% o Male:-86.46% o Female:-65.93% • No. of registered industries:- 2270 • No. of industrial worker:-1,50,000 (approx) • Polling Stations:- 163 + 77 • Total Electors in Final Photo Electoral Roll 2014:-196597

  3. Challanges • EP ratio • Law and Order • Hamlets and Forest Area • Migrated Population • Tribal Area • Highly Political Sensitive

Proper Management of Electoral Roll • Awareness through Banners and Hoardings • Bulk SMS were sent • Awareness through Cable TV and News papers • Local sentiments were added i.e. tarpa and thali folk dances were used. • Different registration camps were organized specially in industrial area. • NukadNaatak and School student’s rallies were also organized. • Near about 25000 voters were added

Polling Stations • 77 Auxiliary Polling Stations were established • BMF at all polling stations were ensured. • A survey of all polling stations was conducted. • Samiyana/Tent was erected at all polling station. • Appropriate signages was placed at each polling stations. • Helpdesks to facilitate the voters.

  6. Voting Awareness • A dedicated vehicle along with folk dancers was engaged to aware the voters for ethical voting. • EVM demonstration at Hatt/ Local Bazzar, residential societies and imminent places. • Colour Voters slip • Sector Medical officers along with Sector Magistrate and Sector Police Officer were appointed.

  7. Law & Order • Preventive Action • 543 proceedings under Section 107 of CrPC • Sensitize the Political representatives and candidates towards best electoral practices • Regular monitoring of SST, VST and MCC teams. • Confidence building measures. • A pocket booklet “गागर” was compiled and distributed to all concerned.

  8. Poll Day management • A control room was setup to facilitate the voters and receive the polling information. • BLOs were appointed as helpdesk in charge. • Web-Casting, Videography and Micro-Observers were appointed to cover all polling stations.

  9. The result is….. • Voting Percentage increased from 73.22% to 84.10% • No complaints and FIR registered. • Free and Peaceful Election • Highly Appreciated by Locals and Candidates too
