The Board of Education has authorized tomorrow, Friday, June 13 as a Dress Down Day to raise funds for Jake. Jake is a 6 year old Ivy Drive student who at 22 months was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) , an incurable degenerative neuromuscular disease that affects all the muscles in his body. It will cost approximately $30,000 to get their family van modified. Jake is getting too big for his car seat and will soon need to stay in his wheelchair while being transported . Anyone wishing to participate in this fundraiser should give their contributions to Maggie Daniels in the Main Office. Checks can be made out to the Jake Small Fund. Jake and his family THANK YOU from the bottoms of their hearts.
