  2. The 13 Colonies • Before the Tea Act and the Quebec act a group of people (those in the 13 colonies) were already thinking they may want to break away from Britain.

  3. The 13 Colonies • Read about the Thirteen Colonies and some of the taxation the colonist were subject to outside of the Tea Act, on pg. 78 and 79 of the text (Pearson Canadian History). You will gain a better understanding of why when the Tea Act and Quebec Act were added colonists had, had enough!

  4. The 13 Colonies • In groups you will complete a placemat activity in response to the following questions. • 1)What did people in the 13 colonies want? • 2)Why were some of the colonists unhappy? • 3) Do you think it was fair for the British government to tax colonists when the colonists did not elect people into the government? Explain! • 4) What does the word “loyalty” mean?
