  1. LHCH Equity Tool • Equity tool available on • Trust Intranet via the • Information Switchboard • Measures equity two • ways: • Comparing rates per • million for different • procedures across • age, sex and • ethnicity groups • Comparing • deprivation profiles • of geographical • areas and the • deprivation of • patients treated

  2. Equity Comparator Summary Summary is measuring the number of occasions that rates per million are low for a particular procedure across age, sex and ethnicity groups Some concerns have been flagged, however, these are consistent with known market share patterns.

  3. Equity Comparator Analysis Analysis shows Vale Royal PCI with rates per million significantly below the average. Issue investigated using Dr Foster and LHCH doesn’t have a strong market share in this footprint hence no major concern. Although potential opportunity for marketing.

  4. Analysis shows Valve procedures with no significant outliers for rates per million. No concern.

  5. Deprivation Comparator Summary Summary shows only a few minor concerns that would warrant closer review. No major concerns present.

  6. Deprivation Comparator Analysis Analysis shows Sefton Pacing which is flagged as a minor concern due to the discrepancy in the deprivation curves. Such issues are currently being reviewed.

  7. Deprivation Comparator Analysis Analysis shows Liverpool Pacing which has no concerns with perfect correlation in the deprivation curves. No concern.
