  5. Man Vs. God • Victor creating the monster/creature. • Victor was trying to be God when he attempt created the perfect being but the plan backfired on him and instead the “perfect being” became a nightmare for Victor. “…I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs,” (Shelly 35).

  6. Man Vs. Man • Victor vs. The Creature • After the creature kills Elizabeth, Victor vowed to kill the monster even if he had to chase it forever to do so. He later dies from this conflict because of exhaustion . “ My life, as it passed thus, was indeed hateful to me, and it was during sleep alone that I could taste joy (Shelly 151).”

  7. Man Vs. Self • Victor’s confliction of whether to make a female monster. • When the monster asked for the creation of a female companion Frankenstein was contemplating over whether the monster will follow through with his deal of going away or if he would cause havoc with the female. “ You must create a female for me, with whom I can live in the interchange of those sympathies necessary for my being (Shelly 104).” “ This may not be: cease to argue the point, for I cannot consent (Shelly 106).”

  8. Man Vs. Society The Creature Vs. The Society • During the time the monster was stalking the couple and learning their language and their living style he decided to try to integrate himself into the family but doing so Felix chased away the monster because of his hideous appearance. “Felix darted forward, and with supernatural force tore me from his father (Shelly 97).”

  9. Outcome • The conflicts in this book had almost always caused death of a character. For example when Victor tried to play god that resulted in the death of William or when Victor didn’t create a female, Henry got killed from the creature’s anger. And finally when Victor was chasing the monster he died due to exhaustion.
