  4. Major Accomplishment • Louis the 14 had absolute power in France. • Cardinal Richelieu made sure of it.

  5. Wars • The wars that Louis the XIV was in were: • A. The War of Devolution (1667-68) • B. The Dutch War (1672-78) • C. The War of the League of Augsburg (1688-97) • D. The War of the Spanish Succession (1702-13)

  6. Religion. • Louis's religion was Catholicism.

  7. Family • Louis the 14 had a wife name Anee from Austria and two children. One is Louis the XV and the other one is called Philippe.

  8. To Rule by Himself • Louis the 14 got help from a cardinal that help him rule the country of France. It was mostly the cardinal who actually ruled. His name was Richelieu. Then Louis decided to rule by himself and it wasn't easy since his own people fought against him.

  9. Versailles • Some people say that Louis spend about 100 million dollars to built his palace, and it’s called the Versailles. • It has 357 mirrors on his palace.

  10. Death And Legacy • Louis was in control of the nobles in France. Anyone who rebelled against the king had to leave the country or had to be killed. He united France under a strong monarch.
