  2. Back This is a layout of the church. There are some things to note before we begin. The albs for the Altar Servers are in the south sacristy in the cabinet closet in the back of the room (look for a corkboard). There are schedules, instructions, cinctures (ropes) choose the same color as the tabernacle veil, and crosses there too. Make sure all the candles in the sanctuary are lit unless father says otherwise. There are 2 at the sides of the altar and sometimes there are some up by the tabernacle. The candle bearer candles are in the front of the church on a small table next to the usher’s pew. Light the candles bearer candles. There is a furnace with a board on it behind the tabernacle. Place the candles there after you process. This is where they will be kept during mass. Front Usher’s pew

  3. You will all process in from the front of the church in this order. Candle Cross Candle -------Book--------- ------Deacon------- ------Father-------

  4. Process to the sanctuary (not in a hurry)

  5. Stop at the stairs -The candles and cross will bow (its hard to genuflect with these items) Bow

  6. Genuflect -The book will genuflect

  7. The candles with be placed behind the tabernacle as the crucifix will be placed in its holder in the north sacristy (there is a small board on a furnace for the candles.)

  8. Cross is in chair 3 Left candle is in chair 2 Book is in Chair 1 Right candle is in chair 4 on the other side.

  9. Lord, have mercy… During the “Lord have mercy…” The book bearer needs to prepare the Sacramentary(red book) for the opening prayer. -it is right next to you on the small table. Notice that there is a bookstand under it, you will need that later.

  10. Let us pray. When father says, “Let us pray” The book bearer takes father the sacramentary (red book)

  11. Hold the book toward father with the back of it leaning against your chest.

  12. Place the Sacramentary back on the small table.

  13. All are seated for the readings.

  16. (Alleluia(Ordinary Time) or (Glory and praise to you Lord Jesus Christ(Lent) Stand GOSPEL Stand for the Gospel. -Candle bearers, go and get the candles from behind the tabernacle.

  18. GOSPEL Line up with each other and father or deacon. Wait for them and lead them to the ambo.

  20. GOSPEL -the right candle bearer will lead

  21. -right candle goes to the outside of the ambo -left candle goes inside GOSPEL

  23. GOSPEL The Gospel of the Lord. Place candles on the ambo sides and remain holding them.

  24. After the Gospel, takes your candles back behind the tabernacle. GOSPEL Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!

  25. It is time for the homily, everyone sit and listen to father. --do NOT— Play with hair or Cincture (rope) or Feet or Cross or Hands or kick your legs or pick your nose or do anything distracting --please sit still–

After the Homily -Book places the sacramentarywith its stand on the altar facing you. -Cross will go get the chalice and communion cups and take them take it to deacon or father at the altar, if no one is there just place it on the altar. Place the cups diagonally. -Candles will both go with father to receive the gifts. Offering

  42. Candles Take whatever father hands you and do the following with whatever you have. Wine – take it to the left side of the altar to give to father, wait for him to be done and take the bottle in the north sacristy. Set it on the counter with the fridge. Basket – take it into the north sacristy and place it on the counter with the cabinets above them. Bow Offering
