  1. Is Listening To A Book Is As Effective As Reading It? LTG Mary Legere

  2. LTG Mary Legere loves to settle down with a good book, but also takes advantage of audiobooks.

  3. Anything that gets people to consume the written word should be seen as positive. But there is an ongoing debate among purists who question whether listening to an audiobook constitutes reading. Some myths have grown up around them: that readers are likely to miss something if they listen to a book rather than read it, or that the narrators of audiobooks, as a group, have annoying voices. These and other ideas about audiobooks have mostly been proven to be myths.

  4. Entertainment There’s nothing as entertaining as listening to recordings of your favorite books. Most audiobooks are good, and are read by professionals who act out the book, especially where there is dialogue. In your mind, the story becomes just as alive as it does by actually reading it. 5. Focus It’s not uncommon for the mind to wander when reading a book. When you listen to an audiobook, you have the option of playing back the last 30 seconds to refresh your memory. A good reader can help you engage with the story faster because the narration brings up a better image in your mind. Should you have a tedious book that requires your focus, try listening to it on audio.

  6. Multitask Perhaps the greatest advantage to listening to an audiobook is the fact that you can be doing something else as you listen. There are plenty of things you can do as you listen to the book, like working out, gardening, or cleaning the house.

  7. LTG Mary Legere is a Books on Tape (BOT) and ITunes audiobook fan, having averaged a book per week for the past eight years. Read more about LTG Mary Legere on: https://www.wattpad.com/user/LTGMaryLegere http://about.me/LTGMaryLegere
