  2. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?”  Ecclesiastes 11:9 Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.

  3. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Youthful Bible Characters Who Did Great Things for God • David: 1 Samuel 16-17 • God chose David to be King while still a youth • While a youth, fought and killed Goliath • Joseph: Genesis 37-50 • We first meet Joseph at age 17. Gen 37:2 • Referred to as a youth in Genesis 41:12 • Joseph experienced many troubles, yet never stopped following God

  4. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Youthful Bible Characters Who Did Great Things for God • Esther: • Esther (Esther 2:2-4, 7) is among the young virgins sought to become queen. • After becoming queen, Esther did not forget that she was one of God’s people (a Jew), and still accepted guidance from her guardian Mordecai • Esther risked her own life by going to the king on behalf of the Jews

Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were among them. • Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s food. Daniel 1:8

  7. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Practice Pure Religion • “Visit” (“to look upon, care for, exercise oversight”) those who are less fortunate: James 1:27 • “Wash one another’s feet” John 13:1-14 • Jesus demonstrated great humility in performing a very menial service • We need to be ready to humble ourselves to perform tasks for others.

Acts 8:4 • You can help establish contact with potential converts. John 1:35-51 • Asking others to participate in a Bible Study • Inviting others to worship • Discussing spiritual matters with others

  12. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Prepare for the Future • Young Men Need to Prepare to be: • Husbands. Ephesians 5:25-33, I Peter 3:7 • Fathers. Ephesians 6:4 • Leaders of the Home. Ephesians 5:23-24 • Elders or Deacons. 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 • Young Women Need to Prepare to be: • Wives. Ephesians 5:22-24, 1 Peter 3:1-6 • Mothers & Keepers at Home. Titus 2:4-6

  13. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Prepare for the Future • Enhance Bible Knowledge • Study: 2 Timothy 2:15 • Give a defense of the Gospel: 1 Peter 3:15

Matthew 6:33, Malachi 1:1-14 • Our service must not be motivated by the desire for public recognition • We must not allow our service to become a public performance. Matthew 6:1-18. • Be cautious with your words Ecclesiastes 5:1-7; James 1:19

Colossians 3:17 • We are subject to the laws of our King, Jesus. • Having good intentions does not guarantee approval by God. Matthew 7:21-23

  16. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” • Things to Remember • Don’t seek change merely for the sake of change. Acts 17:21. • You may face persecution and ridicule. 2 Timothy 3:12, 1 Peter 4:1-4

  17. “What Can We Do In The Kingdom?” Jeremiah 1:4-8  Now the word of the LORD came to me saying,     "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,         And before you were born I consecrated you;         I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."     Then I said, "Alas, Lord GOD!         Behold, I do not know how to speak,         Because I am a youth."     But the LORD said to me,         "Do not say, 'I am a youth,'         Because everywhere I send you, you shall go,         And all that I command you, you shall speak.     "Do not be afraid of them,         For I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD.
